For some, these may sound like strange words, but for those who have grown up in extended families, enemies from within are not a myth, they are a reality. I have also learned that even in small households, such hidden enmity can exist. This does not surprise me, because the Bible clearly states that a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household… Mathew 10:36.
A Family Rooted in Witchcraft
I grew up in a family of 27 siblings, where witchcraft was the main source of power and income. Many of our parents’ successful businesses were sustained by these dark practices. Each mother worked tirelessly to ensure her children dominated in every aspect of life—even if it meant using witchcraft to corrupt or destroy the destinies of others.
The result was heartbreaking. Many children failed to complete school, some suffered endless sickness, while others developed destructive habits that hindered their growth. The home was filled with rivalry, jealousy, and spiritual battles.
The Cost of Witchcraft on Education and Destiny
I witnessed bright, promising girls drop out of school due to early pregnancies. Out of eighteen girls, only one completed school and married properly afterward, how this happened is a story for another day, though both she and her mother have since passed away.
Even the boys, despite having access to money and good schools, dropped out. Some started small retail shops which later failed, others worked in factories or construction sites, choosing a life far below their potential.
For my three siblings and me, things turned slightly differently. Our mother, the youngest wife, eventually gave her life to Christ. That decision changed everything for us, although the struggles did not disappear. Education remained a constant battle, but at least we had light amid the darkness.
Spiritual Warfare Within the Family
Our father valued education deeply, considering school completion the ultimate measure of success. This made those in school prime targets for attack from the other mothers. As the older generation aged and lost strength, the spiritual battles shifted among the stepchildren. Fortunately, by that time, families had moved to different locations, and the intensity reduced.
Although our father rejected church attendance, our mother taught us to pray and believe in Christ. As siblings, we shared a deep bond and supported one another in difficult times.
Dreams That Revealed the Hidden Truth
Later, I moved to another region and began serving in church. Yet, strange dreams started to trouble me, I found myself wrestling with my siblings in my sleep. Initially, I believed these dreams were the devil’s attempt to sow disunity among us.
Life was tough; I struggled to pay rent and relied on small contributions from my siblings. Still, I prayed for them, believing they won’t be used by enemy. But during a seven-day fast, the truth began to unfold.
One night, I dreamt that one of my siblings was strangling me. Another dream showed a sibling lying on my bed, and instead of words, frogs came out of his mouth. That was when I realized that witchcraft was active even among my closest family members, fulfilling the Scripture in Exodus 34:7, which warns that the sins of the parents can affect their children and grandchildren.
When Ignorance Opens the Door
At that time, everyone else seemed to be doing well, while I could barely survive. You may wonder how witchcraft could work against someone serving in church. The answer is simple, ignorance.
Though God revealed the truth to me in dreams, I brushed it off. I accepted small gifts, surprise lunches, and even consistent midnight calls from one of them asking about my whereabouts—never realizing these could serve as points of contact for renewing covenants and spiritual attacks.
Items like clothes, food, photos, or personal belongings can become instruments of witchcraft when placed on evil altars. Those close to us often have access to such things, making household witchcraft particularly dangerous. I kept most of my personal belongings in their homes
Modern Families and Secret Witchcraft
This is not limited to my background. Today, many families secretly battle witchcraft. Siblings or relatives engage in it not always out of hatred, but to gain fame, wealth, marriage, or success. The sad bit of this is that the victims are not aware and think that its just normal life struggles.
Witchcraft practitioners assure their clients that the victim will remain unchanged on the surface, unaware of what’s happening. But behind the scenes, the victim’s life slowly crumbles—they work tirelessly with little to show for it, suffer unexplained delays, and live under invisible oppression.
Signs You May Be Under Spiritual Attack
If you frequently dream of fighting with household members, do not ignore it. These dreams are often spiritual warnings. Begin to pray and repent, denouncing any known or unknown covenants made on your behalf.
At evil altars, points of contact—like personal items—represent you in spiritual covenants. Denouncing known and unknown covenants and seeking God’s mercy will break their power.
Breaking Free Through Prayer
Spiritual freedom begins with awareness and prayer. As you recognize these patterns, pray for deliverance, repentance, and divine covering. The Lord is faithful to reveal hidden things and bring restoration.
