Waking up with strange marks on your body can be confusing and frightening. Many people immediately turn to medical explanations or online searches, yet sometimes the answers do not fit what they are experiencing. While there is no Bible verse that directly addresses mysterious body marks, some may reference Leviticus 19:28, which warns against intentional cuttings or tattoos. This, however, is different from what I want to discuss. In this article, I share my personal journey, what I encountered and what I heard while counselling others, and how I stopped these mysterious marks from appearing on my body.
My Early Experiences with Mysterious Scratches
I remember a season when I used to scratch my wrist and forearm area a lot, mostly during the winter months. I assumed my body was reacting to the weather or to the jacket I wore since it had not been washed. This continued for a long time until I almost became used to it.
Then, during the spring season, I wore a T shirt and for some reason looked at my forearm after scratching. I saw a long, thin line that looked like it had been made with a razor and was healing with tiny black spots. It looked strange, but I did not think much of it. A few days later it disappeared. Soon after, another similar cut appeared close to the previous one. It was surprising, yet I still ignored it.
When the Marks Became More Frequent
One morning in the summer, a day after completing a 3 day fast, I saw two long, thin cuts at the same spot. Unlike the previous times, I was concerned. I immediately googled the symptoms, but the answers were not satisfying. Google suggested that people may bruise themselves during sleep, that certain medications or vitamin deficiencies such as Vitamin C, Vitamin K or iron can make bruising easier, and that dry skin, mild allergic reactions or insect bites can also cause marks.
Some of these explanations could have been true because at that time I was sleeping on the couch. It was during my early season of self-deliverance/isolation, so I thought maybe the couch edges caused the bruises. What I could not understand was why the marks appeared only on one area of my body, specifically the forearm. I also checked YouTube and found no discussions on this.
A few weeks later I saw more cuts, and at that point I knew that what I was experiencing was spiritual.
Recognizing the Spiritual Pattern & the spirit spouse
I began to pray aggressively against them and for a while they disappeared. Whenever I stopped praying, the marks returned. This time they appeared even on my thighs. I started praying against it daily and applied anointing oil. This solution worked only temporarily. But whenever I struggled to pray, the marks multiplied, and this frustrated me deeply.
However, behind the frustration, I started noticing a pattern. One thing became clear. Whenever I went deep into repentance and renouncing prayers, it became difficult for the spirit spouse to make sexual contact with me in my sleep. Instead, I would see these thin cuts and marks. I mention the spirit spouse because during the period when all this was happening, attacks from the spirit spouse were frequent.
Understanding the Strategy Behind the Attacks
To cut the long story short, I came to understand that the spirit spouse uses body fluids as a point of contact on its altar to forge evil covenants and gain a strong hold over a person’s life. If it cannot obtain those fluids through sexual attacks, it creates cuts on the body to draw blood or other fluids in order to defile your spirit.
This was the moment when the full picture began to make sense.
How Daily Communion Stopped the Mysterious Marks
I began to take Holy Communion every night before sleeping. Like it written in the bible, I believed that the blood of Jesus becomes my blood, which meant that anything drawn from me would be automatically disqualified for any demonic ritual. This is how the cuts stopped.
I also took communion immediately after every sexual attack. Sometimes I would wake up, take communion and go back to sleep, only to face another attack and wake up again. The goal of the attack was to defile my spirit and make me vulnerable, but I thank God that most times I was able to renew my covenant with Christ. It was exhausting and frustrating, yet the freedom and peace that followed made everything worth it.
Encouragement for Those Facing Similar Experiences
For some people, the process may feel long and tiring. Others may prefer to say a prayer of faith and believe that the attacks will stop immediately. That is completely fine as long as it aligns with the Word of God and works for you. What I have shared is simply the path that God used to deliver me, and the same approach has helped several people who have reached out to me.
Mysterious marks can be a confusing experience, but there is hope. There is freedom. There is victory. My story is a testimony of what God can do when we remain consistent, prayerful and rooted in covenant with Him.
